Tamper evident security labels can be used for a multitude of purposes, and come in a variety of types, and can be used for security sealing applications where a plastic seal would not be suitable - sealing retail packaging for electronic equipment for instance.
Another example of their use is security sealing a van going into an airport, to comply with the Department of Transport legislation, where the van doesn't have any door fixings that a plastic security seal would be able to be used on. In this case a numbered non-resi (meaning that when the label is removed, no adhesive residue is left on the surface) label would be stuck across both rear doors, to provide tamper evidence. Once affixed to the surface, the label displays a "VOID" message on any parts of the label which have been peeled off of the original surface, ensuring that as long as the label is in tact that the goods inside are as they were when the vehicle was loaded and sealed.
Non Resi Label Security Seal
Highly visible matt-coated polyester seal displays a white 'VOID/OPEN' message against a blue background upon removal. No adhesive residue will remain on the container or packaging, which makes this label security seal suitable for applications such as aircraft hatches, van doors and retail packaging.

Special Label Security Seals
The Unisto EntriSeal (pictured) shows how bespoke elements eg Photoluminescent ink and special print effects can be incorporated into designs of label security seals for specific uses. The EntriSeal has been developed for use on aircraft hatches and vehicle doors; providing a strong VOID message and leaving no residue and with a writable area for coding or signature.
